Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty cars have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the German city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.
Police report they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.
The fluid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Officers then located numerous other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Officials state preliminary tests show the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.
"There is still no lead as to its origin; officials are currently not informed of any harm in relation with the incident," they commented.
City officials announced they were trying "to unravel the case" and have requested to the community for tips.
An important political figure commented the incident left him stunned and needed to be resolved quickly.
"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack five years ago," he posted on social media, mentioning the killing of nine victims by a assailant targeting people of foreign heritage in February 2020.
